Modernization Pilot

A controlled technical change that tests one promising modernization hypothesis before committing to a broader transformation.

WHY THIS STAGE MATTERS

A pilot should produce evidence that an approach works in your environment, including what it costs to operate and how to recover if needed.

/01

What must be agreed

  • One component, workflow or measurable bottleneck.
  • A baseline, acceptance criteria, responsibilities and environment.
  • Deployment window, safety threshold and rollback plan.
/02

Delivery activities

  • Design and implement the smallest useful change.
  • Test functional behavior, security boundaries and operational observability.
  • Measure against baseline and document exceptions or residual risks.
/03

Typical deliverables

  • Working and authorized improvement within scope.
  • Test evidence and before/after measurement.
  • Rollback/runbook and handover notes.
  • Go, revise or stop recommendation.

Change control

No uncontrolled production changes. Scope changes are priced and approved separately; successful pilots do not guarantee enterprise-wide outcomes.
